Robert "Beau" Bassett, Ed.M., J.D.
Master PYLI Trainer
Founder of Alaska PYLIBeau has led Alaska PYLI since inception in 1998 and has dedicated the past 25 years to mentoring Alaska’s youth. He has taught in Anchorage high schools, is a former member of the Alaska Bar Association, and former Outward Bound instructor and director of Alaska Wilderness School, with a life-long passion for youth development. In addition to Alaska PYLI, Beau is a founder and director of the Charles H. Bassett Youth Foundation, Inc. in Owego, New York.

Marissa Ridgley
ASD Educator & Youth Advocate
2010 Alaska PYLI GraduateMarissa graduated from the University of Alaska, Anchorage with an AA in Early Childhood Development and a Bachelors in Social- Emotional Development- Interdisciplinary Studies, and has been teaching youth since 2013, currently with the Anchorage School District (ASD). She established Advanced Learning Educational Services in 2020, a tutoring service to aid and assist students with their academic success. Marissa is part of the NAEYC, Thread, and Migrant communities, and is the author of “IF I CAN DO IT, YOU CAN DO IT” — a collection of written experiences, poems and accomplishments to inspire and encourage youth that anything is possible if you believe.
